Bentley Herz
In Loving Memory of Bentley Herz (January 5, 1988 — September 1, 2005) The memories of Bentley live on in our hearts than spanned nearly 17 years as our loving companion. From the playful rambunctious puppy stage to the quiet loving sweetness in later years, Bentley was always very affectionate. His keen sense of smell would lead him to mischief chasing squirrels, rabbits & birds, cornering possums in their holes, and opening the trash. He never lost his desire to grab anything he could carry through his doggie door to the back yard to bury. Working in the yard we would uncover pot holders, lost shoes and wallets, socks, work gloves, and the list goes on. He would never let us forget when it was time to eat and loved his daily walks. Bentley kept his puppy qualities of curiosity, dependence and a loving disposition. We are truly grateful for the unconditional love that he brought into our lives. Nancy & Bruce Herz Tampa, FL

Bess ATB 7/16/03
Bessie came into our lives, as a stray, in the fall of 1999. She taught us the ways of bassets, and how much they can love. Because of Bess, and her enormous heart, she led us to rescue work. She saw many hounds come through our doors, and in her way, helped each one along their journey. She will continue to help each one still, only from a different place. We gave her our hearts as freely as she gave us her heart, and she will be missed for all our lives. We love you Bessie! Mamas Pat and Wen

Bo 06/15/2008
Scott and I fostered Bo almost 2 years ago. He was our second little foster and because he was already 7 years old, he stayed with us over a couple of months. He was adopted by a lovely young lady and they lived the perfect life. What happen since March 08, I do not know exactly but what I know is Bo went to live with her father. The whole family adored Bo and he was truly a part of the family. Last month as Bo was left to go unleashed to go potty he suddenly was distracted and shot off. He was hit and killed by a truck. Everyone is grieving., May sweet little Bo's death teach us something and help us remember to insist with our applicants on the fact that beagles need to be leashed at all times. Much as a 2 year old they are not reliable and will get distracted., It is up to us to protect our beagles as we would protect a toddler. Bo was 9 years old when ihe died. Rest in peace sweetheart and chase the lizards all you want on the rainbow bridge. You are now truly safe. Madeleine & Scott

Brady - July 2016
I just wanted to let you know we lost our Brady on July 17, 2016, to cancer. He was a sweet and loving spirit and he will always remain with us. We miss him greatly and know he is running and playing with his friends and squirrels at the rainbow bridge just waiting for us. I love you Brady and miss you everyday. Mom

Brody
Dear Brody, I only knew you for a few minutes, your last minutes before going to the bridge. My heart is aching still and so I'll write a tribute to you. I was just driving home down the same road I drive daily, when I saw you and your brother lying on the side of the road. You were both very hurt, but still with us. Thankfully, the man on the motorcycle stopped too. He went to help JC and I stayed with you. You lay motionless while I talked to you and stroked your sweet face. Your brown eyes were so sad as you looked at me. I kept telling you what a good boy you must have been and asked you to hang on while I called the phone number on your tag. But your breaths were shallow and short. In just minutes your eyes no longer saw me , your pain was gone ... you went swiftly to the bridge. Your mom and dad were devastated when I went to their door. Your toys were there and your big water bowl too. They came with me to see you one more time, and to also help JC get to the hospital. The man on the motorcycle kept JC alive by keeping pressure on his severe wounds. Brody, I'm sure the big van didn't mean to hit you, but I don't know why they didn't stop to help us. Some humans just don't understand. At least I know you were very loved on this earth, and I am glad I was with you to comfort you on your way to the bridge. Everyone will miss your beautiful retriever smile.
