Rocky IV
Rocky IV

Rocky is doing wonderful! We are completely smiten with him, and love having him as part of our family. He is such a laid back, well behaved dog. It is hard to believe what he has been through in his past because he certainly does not act like he has been through any trauma (and I am sure that alot of that is thanks to how well Kim and her family took care of him). Yes, please go ahead and send us his records. We really appreciate it. I must say that being at work this week has been so hard! All I want to do is hang out with Rocky! But thankfully, he has adjusted very well to being home alone during the day. I take him for a run at 6am to tire him out, and I think that seems to be working! Then I walk and run with him again at night. He is the greatest dog, and Billy and I cannot thank you and Kim enough for bringing him into our lives!

Rudy
Rudy

We were looking for a dog to replace our 13 year old beagle (Bruno) that passed on a few months earlier. We contacted TBBR and started the adoption process in Jan 2008. Rudy has been a real gem, started out a bit timid but has really come around. He thinks he is the king of the roost just what you think would befit the regal beagle. Denise and Bruce

Rusty II
Rusty II

Rusty has become an enormous part of our family. We are thankful for every day that we have him. He has learned how to shake hands, sit, be friendly with other dogs, and so many other things. Right now, he is having problems with his hips, so we have him at the vet to be checked out. We are hoping that it's nothing serious, as we don't want to lose our shining star. Thank you again for letting him adopt us :-)

Reno
Reno

Reno & Lucas We adopted Reno on May 17, 2008. We chose a beagle because they are more of a family dog, while our previous dog was mainly a one-person dog; however, Reno actually chose us. We arrived at the adoption event with a list of dogs we were interested in, which did not include Reno, but every time we would bend down to greet one of the dogs, Reno would put himself between us and the other dog … so Reno, it was! We soon discovered that Reno can not be left in the house uncaged and alone as he gets in to everything, so we located a nearby doggie-daycare for him for the occasions where we are both gone all day. That worked well for both us and Reno as we had the peace of mind that he wasn’t locked in a cage all day or chewing up the house, and he got to spend the day playing with the other dogs. Because Reno has so much fun with the other dogs, in October, we decided he should have a playmate. We attended the adoption event on November 1st, again armed with a list of dogs we were interested in. Again, we ended up with a dog not on our list when Lucas joined our family that day. Just like children, what one doesn’t think of, the other one does! Reno knows how to open doors with the lever-type handles. Fortunately, those were only on interior doors, but we’ve had to change them all to standard door knobs. And Lucas is an expert at getting things off the kitchen counters, no matter how far back you push them. Now, about 6 weeks after Lucas joined us, I think he is finally feeling “at home” as it is only in the last few days that he has starting getting on the beds something Reno has been doing all along. “The boys” still go to doggie-daycare on the days we are gone all day and both come home exhausted every time. The employees of the daycare tell us that although they start out in the medium dog area, Reno likes to jump over the 4 4 ½ foot wall to play with the big dogs. They are a constant source of amusement (and sometimes frustration!) in our house; even when they are in trouble, they tend to bring a smile to your face. Jamie Danker & Steve Walter

Rose
Rose

Hello TBBR, As promised, I wanted to send you an update on the sweetest beagle ever! Foremost, our little lady weighed in at 28.5 pounds this weekend! We are so happy and proud of her and the wonderful job that she has been doing. It is hard to believe that we have had Rose now for over 4 months. We just grow to love her more each day and I still get that little tickle in my heart whenever she looks at me. She is the best and we are so thankful to TBBR for doing what you do. It is hard to imagine or even think about what would have happened to this sweet little princess if she had not been lovingly taken in by such a wonderful, caring group of people. It is no wonder that they say dog is man’s best friend…because Rose truly is ours. She is our loyal little companion and we try to include her in all of our plans as much as possible. 2 weeks ago, she had her first sleep over at her Grandads. She went on a lot of walks and loved the smells of the heavily wooded areas in their backyard. On Thursday we are all going to enjoy a baseball game and Saturday holds in store another trip to the beach! She seems truly happy as long as she is with Mom and Dad — from just hanging out in the yard, or just watching TV she is always close by. Her newest hobby is chasing lizards. She is not real crazy about other dogs, but that is ok, because she is our one and only and all we need. No matter how tired she gets, she will stay up with us until it is time for everyone to go to bed where she likes to lay in between us and give us lots of kisses and enjoys getting her trim little belly rubbed. When it is time to get up in the morning, she wakes us with more kisses, and if that is not enough to get us out of bed, she will jump off the bed and pull the covers off of us or howl at us begging us to get up and take her for her morning stroll (and of course, breakfast). She is so full of energy and loves to play, especially now that she had lost that extra weight. Rose has brought so much fulfillment to our lives that I think neither one of us could have ever imagined. I think she knows that she is home now forever and that she will never be alone or abandoned again. We remind her of that all the time and I am pretty sure that she understands! Sorry I did not have very many pictures with family, we will work on that and get some to you! Thank you all for what you do! Carrie, Joshua and Rose
