Scarlett

It can take a long time for a timid, un-socialized dog to come around: We adopted our third beagle from TBBR about a year a so ago. A very shy little girl named Scarlett. She spent most of her time under the bed. We had to drag her out to make her go outside. It has taken time and patience (and the help of her brother Buddy), but she has turned into such a sweet dog. She still likes her quiet time under the bed, but she loves to come out and visit, and loves to run and play with Buddy. Last night she came flying in from the back yard, hopped onto the couch and looked me right in the eye as if to say……………"This is ok for me to do without getting in trouble, isn't it? She licked me on the nose and was off again………………. Joe

Hope you're keeping well. Thankyou so much for the great Thankyou card you sent, very kind of you. I've finally got round to giving you an update on Smokey (pics attached). He is an absolute darling and we wouldn't be without him. My lab Izzy adores him and Smokey loves all the attention he gets from everyone. He doesn't act like a 7 year old dog and keeps up with Izzy whose nearly 3. Smokey is so good with Eliza (nearly 2yrs) and puts up with toddler moments, he hasn't batted an eyelid, even with a pan on his head! Smokey is so kind and gentle, all our neighbours have fallen in love with him and is well known in the neighbourhood (especially now Beagles are the no. 1 dog to have!) Everyone stops and talks to me when they see Smokey and of course Izzy gets lots more attention now having a Beagle as a buddy! I can't express enough my sincere thanks for Smokey and the unbelievable work you all do. I would definately adopt an adult dog again. Thanks again Best Wishes Fiona Long xxx

He is doing just great, He actually goes by the name Bagel now and loves his new home. He follows commands with ease and is able to learn new tricks. Rough housing with his rope toy is still hands down his favorite thing to do. We plan on going to the next meeting at Lopez park so he can see his old buddies again. Thanks again for the great pup! Summer

We're doing well, she is such a sweet dog. She is not around the house much mostly stays in my bed "not a bad place, very comfortable", she has already been on two family trips, one to Georiga, she is a great traveler. I'm hoping over the next weeks that she will feel comfortable enough to be in the living room with the family. I'm not so great with the camera, but will send pictures as soon as I can. She has been to the vet twice, the first visit, she had an ear infection and I thought might contribute to her inactivity and aloofness, she's better now and still prefers my bedroom and bed to the rest of the house. Any suggestions or insight you can give would be great, we are enjoying each other's company, go on long evening walks and enjoy cuddling. LouAnn
