Corvette

Hello to our friends at the beagle rescue! We adopted Corvette back in January 2007. We have meant to update sooner, but we have had so much fun with her that it's hard to break away to use the computer! From the moment she came into our home we knew she was ours; she immediately jumped on our bed and took a family nap with us. She does love to play outside and at the doggie park, and she loves to curl up with us while watching TV or reading a book. She gets along very well with our older dog and older cat, even though she had to learn that the kitty is boss! Corvette is so silly we now call her "Lucy Goosey", which only makes her wag her tail more! She is a bundle of joy and we recommend the rescue to everyone we know. Thank you, Ed and Rebekah Johnson

Charlotte

Hi Angela, Charlotte is wonderful! She fits into our family so well! She's such a sweet dog and loves to be petted, which everyone loves to do! Of course, she still loves to chase those balls! The last time we weighed her at the vet's office, which was around Thanksgiving, she was right around 30 lbs. We have her on Wellness HealthyWeight dog food. Of course, she is always ready and waiting to eat anything she comes across, so we have learned to keep the door to the kitchen garbage can closed and food out of reach on the counter! (I guess you would say she just about has us trained!) She sleeps in her crate at night and we also put her in the crate when we are gone. She still will try to sleep on the furniture, if she thinks we are not paying attention. She has a comfy dog bed, which she also enjoys sleeping on. As I said we put her in the crate at night, but my husband loves to let her out in the morning and send her in to jump on the bed to wake me up or if our granddaughter is spending the night, she will race upstairs to wake her up. Our granddaughter loves for Charlotte to wake her up in the mornings! Our daughter lives next door to us. Charlotte gets to play quite often with our daughter's chocolate lab, Libby, and she gets plenty of exercise when they are together. The lab loves to run and play, so she gets Charlotte to running around, too. Occasionally, Charlotte has to remind Libby who's boss and will snap at her. Libby loves to fetch sticks and Charlotte will run and get the stick before Libby. Charlotte doesn't do to well at returning the stick; she just wants to keep it away from Libby. I don't know if you are interested in college football, but I should tell you that Charlotte has become a University of Alabama football fan. I'm sending you a couple of pictures of her and we're sure she's saying "Roll Tide!" We are so happy we found TBBR and that Charlotte became part of our family! Hope you enjoy the pictures! Best wishes to you and TBBR in 2010! Linda Sanders

Capote
Capote

I just wanted to give you a quick update on Capote (now known as Buddy the Termite Sniffing Dog). He is doing well and is very happy with his new job and owner. He is my business partner and pal. He has been written up in many of the local papers: The New Barker, the Senior Voice, the Paradise News, more, and participated in events from the SPCA, to the opening of a new dog part in St. Pete.

Copper
Copper

Cooper has adjusted great and you would think he had been here forever. He and Maggie play endlessly, share the same food dishes and even share the raw hides (taking turns and watching while the other is chewing). We couldn’t be happier and I don’t think Coop could be either. Thanks again for all of your hard work in saving such great dogs. I have included a few pictures of Cooper in his new home as well a nice shot of Maggie and him together. Hope to keep in touch. Sincerely, Barb

Charlie III
Charlie III

I just wanted to give you the Charlie update. He is doing great with a couple of accidents (more our fault I think than his). He is better about letting us take toys away from him now. Not perfect but is learning. He really doesn't like being in the crate but we only put him in there when we leave for a little while. He has this thing for area rugs. He likes to pick them up and carry them around the house! Go figure. All of our neighbors know we have a beagle since he loves to run around the backyard and let everyone know that he's outside aka BARKING! Boca and Charlie are friends as well. They pal around but he doesn't really want to play which is fine with her. Here is a photo of the boy & his dog. As you can see Charlie knows he has a forever home now! Thanks for helping us make the right doggie match. We love him! Take Care Ellen Mathieson
