Alamo

Our baby (the beagle once named Alamo), Buster, is doing wonderful. He's happy and he's keeping our older dog, Mocha, happy and young. Buster and Mocha reek havok throughout the house but it seems to be what dogs belonging to the Murphys do. He and Mocha play tug of war with rope toys and how they ever end up shredded is amazing. I thought these toys were supposed to be tough. They run and jump all over the furniture and lay around like the king and queen of the place. When Bill and I are at work, the kids certainly don't help keeping them off the furniture, they love it and play with the dogs. We don't mind....its the way we've always been. A little extra cleaning is all it means. Anyway, here are a few pictures. As you can tell Mr. Buster is a happy little guy. Best, Terry Murphy

Things are going pretty well with Annabelle(Abby). We have had a few squabbles over food - she doesn't like Lucy to get too close when she is eating or when she has a bone or chewer. I called Rikkele because Abby got one of Lucy's chewers as soon as she got here and then snarled at Lucy when she came near her. She suggested just letting them have them when they are in their crates and that seems to be working okay. Lucy is a little jealous and Abby is a little skittish so we have some things to work on. My husband and brother already prefer Abby because she is so quiet and well mannered. Poor Lucy! Talk to you later! Emily **2nd Update** I thought you might like an update on Abby. She is doing great! We can't believe how easy this transition has been so far. She fits right into our family! She loves to go for walks with Lucy although she doesn't have quite as much energy! We did have to resort to giving Lucy some "calm down" pills for a few days - she was driving Abby insane. Now they get along wonderfully - most of the time. Lucy is just relentless in her desire to play and Abby has to let her know when she has had enough. Abby isn't startling as much as she used to and her tail isn't down all the time either. Both are pretty good signs I think! Thanks so much for all your help! Emily

What a treasure we have found in the newest member of our family. Miss Macy is the sweetest dog and our children love and adore her. Today Macy, Nicholas (turned 3 two weeks ago) and Ava (almost 2) spent the afternoon playing tag and hide and go seek in the back yard. I will have to show you another picture (it will be next week though) but it is of the kids in the kennel laying on Macy's blanket with her outside looking in. Ava takes turns sucking on her pacifiers and the Macy's chew toys. God help me. But we are having fun!! In the morning, and everyone has been sleeping in until 8am :), we get up to laughter, smiles, and puppy kisses. It is hard to wake up on the wrong side of the bed in this house. I want to thank you for taking Macy in to your home and sending her off with her toys and your tears to our home. Don't worry though, you will see her. We plan to come to the event in Ybor and Treasure Island next month. Talk to you soon!!! Valarie Nussbaum-Harris Macy is doing great! This morning I spent an hour or so cleaning the boat out back. We do not have a seawall so as Macy has figured out, you can walk straight into the water (she had also figured out how to slip under the fence along the water.). She loves the water and loves to chase the fish and birds. She is getting very wild sometimes but that is usually her excitement to see us. Poor Ava though, Macy just licks the heck out of the baby. But, all and all the family has adjusted well, including our cat Max. Talk to you soon!! Valarie 03/06/08She is doing awesome!!! She is the sweetest dog I’ve ever known, just a little lover. She competes with my kids for attention. We love her!!!! Thank you!! As you can see, she is one of the family!!! Valarie

Thank you for you interest in Aggie. Aggie has turned out to be a love. We have bonded with her, and what is more important, she has bonded with us. It was a rocky start as Aggie was incontinent of bowel and bladder in the house and did not know how to ask to go out. I toileted her every two hours for over two weeks and it appears she finally has the hang of it. She will now come to me and wag her tail if she has to go out. We believe she has a prolapsed uterus and she is still incontinent of bladder @ noc while she is sleeping....we just have to wash her bedding every day. She has gained approx. 5 lbs and looks very healthy now. Her skin is in good condition and all her fur has grown back. I take her to the park twice a day where she likes to chase and "tree" squirrels. She is very friendly to other people and dogs. I will have my son e-mail you pictures of Aggie as I do not have the equiptment to do so. Thank you for your concern. Barbara Stewart Nelson.
