3/31/16 UPDATE: Anwell attended his first adoption meetup on 2/26/16, but stayed outside the dog area in his crate next to the TBBR volunteers. He isn't walking on a leash yet.He will require a harness, not a collar. Update: Truman has been adopted: Anwell and Truman were confiscated from the same property in Pasco County. Anwell is missing his right rear leg, but it doesn't hold him back. They are quite fearful and will need patient and loving homes to teach them to trust again. They get along great with each other (often sleeping in the same crate) and the 9 year old female beagle in their foster home. They are slowly warming up to the adults and teenagers in their foster home. They get very excited at dinnertime and love treats, which they now will take from your hand. They have even started letting the people in their foster home pet them! At this point, Anwell and Truman won't be attending our adoption events - it would be too overwhelming for them. However, a private adoption meetup can be arranged at the foster's home. These dogs will require very special, experienced adopters with a fairly calm home environment and a fenced back yard. They are afraid to walk on a leash, but with patience may be able to in the future. They don't have to be adopted together, but will probably do better with another dog in the home. Anwell and Truman are very beautiful beagles. We know that with time, patience and the power of the beagle pack they will learn how to be confident, loving beagles with bright futures in their new forever families.
