Buddy is a gentle, happy dog. He has been on a strict diet since arriving at his foster home, and has lost over 20 pounds since February! We can no longer call him "Big Buddy" because of his weight loss, but he is larger-framed than most beagles - he is a solid looking dog and very handsome. Buddy is a sweet soul and likes everyone, man or animal. He can get a little overexcited when guests arrive, jumping and barking, but it's always with a wagging tail. He knows his name and will give you the cute "are you talking to me?" head tilt when he hears his name. Buddy is a barker and his forever home will need to be OK with that. He barks when he's happy... and he is one happy guy! He doesn't bark without a reason, but dinner time, new arrivals to the home, and people walking by will get him going. ..and that barking earned him Hero status recently when his foster brother was adopted and immediately ran away from his new home in an unfamiliar area. Buddy was brought in to help search the next morning, and in less than 5 minutes his familiar bark brought the lost dog out of the woods, dirty and scared, but unharmed.
