Dodge will be a great addition to an energetic household with consistent, structured humans to help him be his best. Dodge is a sweet, young BEAUTIFUL hound dog. He is a bit shy at first, especially with men, but it doesn't take him long to warm up to people. He is very endearing. He is vocal, and will talk to you when in a playful mood or "wants" something. He has that beagle "bay". He is scent oriented and has his nose in everything. He is tall, and can reach the tops of counters to pull down anything he finds interesting. Dodge is great with dogs, young and old alike, and EVEN BETTER WITH KIDS! In his first foster home there was a three year old that persisted to crawl all over him like he was a set of monkey bars and Dodge handled it incredibly well. He is the best snuggler ever and loves to be around his human! Dodge is two 1/2 but he is still very much a puppy. He will do best in a home who can commit to regular, intense exercise or a fenced yard he can run around in. His current foster takes him to a dog park several times a week were he loves to RUN! He does still chew a bit so you need to watch him. His current foster notices the chewing when he is bored or has not been exercised. He LOVES to play. He would do it all day if he had someone who would be able to keep up with him. He does get nervous at the park when bigger dogs chase after him, though. Another note is that Dodge is an escape artist. We should have named him Houdini. He doesn't get out of a fenced yard, but he can wiggle his way out of a crate no problem. He pops off a panel and squeezes out the sides. If he is to be crated, he should be in it without a collar so he doesn't get stuck and choke. His current foster has fixed this by duct taping the side door and collapsible sides in several places. He'll stay in for the night....might whine/bark for a couple minutes, but then settles down easily. Come and meet Dodge. I think you will find that you could easily love him.
