Shaggy is a happy boy who knows hows to sit and play well with others. He does get overexcited when it is time for a treat, but he tries his hardest to maintain that sitting position.  When given the treat, he is very gentle although soon afterwards his body is swaying back and forth in anticipation of the next treat. 

Shaggy does not chew any inappropriate items and is left uncrated during the day at his foster's home. He does love to run and play and he especially loves squeaky toys. He does crate well at night and he knows how to bark or scratch on the door to go outside or come inside!

Laying next to someone on the couch is also a favorite of Shaggy. Any attention given to him in the home elicits a wag of his tail. 

Although he has not been around many children yet in the foster setting, we think he would be awesome as someone who would love playing and getting the extra attention. We have not ever seen him get upset, even around the grumpy dog at his foster's home. 

He is a beagle mix and is taller and bigger than a standard beagle.  His coat is a little bit longer, he has some interesting markings and he is oh-so- handsome!

Shaggy needs some work on leash manners because he is quite strong and excitable. He is very eager to please and is interested in everything going on around him so we believe he will be a quick learner. 

Despite being let down by his people who never showed up at animal control to rescue him, Shaggy loves people. His tail is constantly wagging whenever he is near people. He is really a sweet, fun-loving guy and he would love to be part of your family. Won't you make him yours?

All of our animals are sterilized, microchipped, vaccinated, and tested/treated for heartworm disease before adoption.
