Beagle : : Male : : Young : : Small
Poor Wynter was dumped at a state park in Georgia. He was picked up by the Dept of Natural Resources and taken to the shelter. From there he was taken to a vet and there was talk of putting him down the next day because he had an obviously injured front leg and the shelter surely did not have the financial resources to help him. TBBR was contacted by a local Georgia rescue because they knew we would be able to help him. He arrived in rough shape for being such a young pup! He was evaluated by our stellar surgeon and determined to have a partially dislocated elbow. It had likely been like that for some time. However there was great hope of being able to save the leg so on December 16 he underwent surgery to fix the leg. He also had his cherry eyes repaired and has gone through heartworm treatment. Extreme Makeover, Beagle Edition! Wynter is a real trooper. He never complained about the sure pain he must have been experiencing. He has done well in his foster family, loving the children and other beagles in the home. Wynter is great in his crate after all that practice he got after surgery. He walks with a little bit of a limp but it is improving as the strength and mobility return. He enjoys his time out doors and loves to curl up for a nap in the sunshine. Wynter is a smaller sized beagle. He melts in your arms if you give him the opportunity. TBBR is looking for just the right family to adopt Wynter, as we want him to know only happiness and comfort for the rest of his long life! Some toys, affection, and a soft place to sleep are all he needs. He would do just fine as an only dog. With proper introductions, he does well in a multi-dog setting as well.
