Beagle : : Male (neutered) : : Adult : : Medium
Chumley is a sweet beagle boy. He was in a shelter in Florida and after so many days went by, TBBR came to rescue him. Chumley gets along well other dogs. Since he has been with his fosters for around two months, his self confidence has grown. He sometimes is a bit too exuberant, but as other rescue dogs have come in for a visit, Chumley has found that he likes all of them. He is a happy-go-lucky guy. Chumley joins in the celebration with the other dogs when people come home by barking and running up to get hugs. His fosters were surprised to hear a deep bark coming out of such a cute beagle boy. It seemed to be a bark that belonged to a bigger dog. Once in a while when he is being petted by a person and the person stops, Chumley encourages them to continue by barking a few times. Chumley is very vocal and makes odd noises when being picked up or being moved. He will fuss when he is being squeezed although he won't move away which indicates he really likes it, but he wants us to think he doesn't like it. When being picked up, he sometimes acts like it hurt although we think it is more that he is unsure what is going on. One word of caution is that Chumley loves food. He will move around the food dish, turning it over and stomping his foot in it to let people know it is empty. He likes it when the dish makes a noise and people look up at him so he can wag his tail, look cute and paw at his dish. With all his exuberance, Chumley is really a sweet boy. He would never hurt anyone or anything. He has wiggled his way into the hearts of many. Chumley does not chew anything inappropriate, but he does love toys. He crates well, but he would like to sleep on a bed. His fosters crated him at first, but now just leave the crate open since he is totally housebroken and he stays out of trouble when left alone. He typically sleeps on a doggie bed on the floor. Although his foster family is lavishing him with attention, he really needs a home where he knows he is valued and loved. He has so much love to give. He would fit nicely into almost any home.... especially your home, don't you agree?
