Beagle : : Female (spayed) : : Senior
Jules is an 8-year-old tricolor beagle with the sweetest soul and a heart that belongs right next to her people. She came from a hoarding situation in Georgia and has been steadily blossoming in foster care. Now a healthy 23 pounds, Jules has gained strength, confidence, and a deep love for the comforts of home life. Jules is a true cuddle bug. Her favorite place is curled up beside a human on the couch, happily snuggling for hours. She enjoys walks and yard time too and walks nicely on leash with just a little beagle enthusiasm. She is medium-energy — happy to explore, but equally content to relax with her family. She gets along beautifully with other dogs, cats, and children. Like many beagles, Jules is protective of her food around other dogs, but she shows no guarding toward people. She simply eats in her crate, which resolves the issue easily. Otherwise, she has shown zero aggression of any kind. Jules does have mild arthritis and some mobility limitations from her past neglect, but she has improved dramatically with joint supplements. She doesn’t run fast, but she absolutely tries when playing with other dogs. She can get off furniture independently but appreciates doggy stairs for getting up. A home without many stairs would be ideal for her long-term comfort. She is mostly housebroken with only rare accidents in foster care. Jules is comfortable being crated when people are nearby or when left home alone, though she may vocalize briefly if crated away from her people. She does have a classic beagle voice and will bark or howl at times. Jules is an incredibly loving, gentle companion who simply wants a safe home, soft place to rest, and people to adore. She would thrive in many types of homes and would make a wonderful addition to a family looking for an affectionate, easygoing best friend.
