Cedar, a 45-pound 7 year old foxhound, is a dog who demands affection and sometimes believes she’s a lap dog. She’s a dog bed princess who seeks the largest dog bed she can find and drags all her toys into it.

Cedar is slow to warm up and reserved but she is a wonderful dog when she knows you. She has no issues with the other dogs in her foster home and she loves going for walks and to the dog park.

She is a little scared of the thunderstorms and loud noises but nothing too crazy.

While generally quiet, Cedar is not recommended for apartment living. She sleeps in her crate (with a very plush dog bed) at night and even tucks herself in. Cedar has had no accidents in her foster home with access to a dog door and regular trips outside.

Cedar came to us extremely underweight and malnourished.  She has a low-fat dietary requirement because fatty foods can cause her to experience gastrointestinal upset.

Currently, Cedar is eating NuLo weight management food which is widely available and very low fat.
