Wilson is a true rescue. He is an older boy (approximately 7years old) who has had a rough beginning. He has a previous leg injury but he compensates for it well; he loves to go on short walks and uses a step to hop up on the couch to curl up next to you. He has skin issues and is missing most of the fur on his tail, but since his coat is more wire-haired he does not really shed! He has significant separation anxiety and does not like to be confined, although he can be left in a crate for a few hours (he will bark for the first 10 minutes but then will settle down). He likes to chew and steal things (like shoes!) so he will need someone who is patient, home often, and willing to work with him on his behavior. He is eager to please and will sit nicely for a treat. He is a great “work from home” buddy (as long as you don’t mind a little snoring). He will also sleep on a dog bed next to your bed at night with no issue. Wilson is not a fan of other dogs so he will need to be an only dog in a household with no small children. He has not been tested with cats but he doesn’t move very fast, so it’s possible he could do fine with them. Wilson is a special case and is looking for the right person or people to give him the life he deserves!
