Max is a big sweetie. He is a bit larger than an average beagle but has that lovable beagle attitude. He has been a perfect gentleman in the house. He is completely housebroken and does not chew on anything but his doggie toys and Nylabones. He has been very respectful of his foster brothers when he wanted to make friends a little sooner than they were ready. By day three everyone was the best of friends playing and snuggling up together. The only thing I would be careful of is that he has been caught counter surfing a coule of times when he smelled something yummy. And he is tall so his surfing could be successful if not monitored. He is  little timid of new situations and new people but does not take long to warm up, He's been with us over a week and I have heard him bark briefly only once. When our dogs go crazy barking when a person dares to walk by our home Max ususally runs to me more bothered by them barking than any person walking by. I'm with you Max!
Max is a young dog so he has a lot of energy and would do well with a family that has a yard for  play and is willing to take him on walks and work on training. He know his name very well and is very responsive when called. He gives good eye contact and the little I've worked with him I think he would be easy to train as he is eager to please. He is good with children and other dogs but I don't know how he would do with cats. I would think a slow introduction as he would be excited at first which normally doesn't go over well with cats. But I think with the correct introduction he would be fine.
He loves attention and wants to snuggle with his people and other dogs as much as he can. However, he is also very good in his crate which he sleeps in at night in our room. He also is in a crate when we leave the house. He also enjoys car rides and is very good on the rides.
Max would make a wonderful addition to a family looking for a young, affectionate, sweet boy.
