Etta is estimated 7 years old female beagle, rescued after being found in a Walmart parking lot. She has a few scars on her, but that doesn't seem to stop her from loving humans or wanting to go for walks. Etta is housetrained, and tells you when she needs to go potty outside. She is very kind, friendly, and gentle towards men and women other low energy dogs; cats I assume would be fine as well.
She doesn't like younger energetic dogs being in her face, she will growl or voice her discomfort with a situation like that.
If you want a dog who cuddles with you, this is the dog. She wants to sleep by your side every night, she wants to be on the couch with you. Every where you go, she wants to be there. She is not crate trained, because her previous life did not include a crate. So she will cry and stress out in a crate.
She is a slow old gal, who prefers the retired life. She likes long naps, and to hang out in whatever room her human is in. I have not heard her bark once, however she has slight separation anxiety and does whine for a short while if you leave the house or go into a room where she can't see you.
I would actually recommend a home with other low energy dogs, to keep her company while her human is away. Our older dogs seem to calm Etta down.
Etta sleeps through the night with ease and likes to sleep in. She will whine at the door to let you know if she has to use the bathroom.
Etta is overweight and on a strict doggie food diet. She loves walks, she will bolt to the door and try to leave when you leave the house. Though Etta loves walks she can't go too far.
She is looking for a low energy, calm, relaxing retirement home to giver her lots of love and attention. She Loves pets and cuddles. She wouldn't mind sleeping in bed or on the couch with you
