Jingles is a spunky, lovable beagle. Her favorite thing is giving humans licks and kisses. She gets along with and plays with other dogs well and isn’t aggressive towards other dogs (her foster family has two beagle boys she shares space with). She also isn’t aggressive toward cats other than wanting to sniff and try to play with them (her foster family also has one indoor/outdoor cat).

Jingles knows her name, and has learned to sit on command (if there are treats or food involved). Her foster family is working on having her stay and also not jump on people. Jingles is very food motivated overall. She has a healthy appetite and drinks water without issue (her foster family keeps water available all day). She scarfs down dry food without issue. She might benefit from having a puzzle food bowl to slow down her eating.

Jingles seems to be crate trained. She can sleep through the night in a crate without a peep. She will also sleep on a dog bed on the floor in the bedroom. She prefers sleeping in a bed with humans to cuddle with, but she’s a big bed hog and wants to be right next to your face.

Jingles can sometimes be a troublemaker. She will relocate towels, rags, shoes, and other things around the house. She enjoys chewing and tearing up paper and cardboard. Her foster family uses gates and shuts doors to keep her contained to a small area to keep an eye on her and minimize the trouble. Keeping Jingles busy and entertained with bones, antlers, and toys has helped.

Jingles has had the occasional pee accident in her foster family’s house. These incidents have lessened over the course of the first week of being in foster care. She has learned how to go in and out of the doggy door with backyard access. Accidents can be minimized when she’s reminded to go outside every few hours, and also by limiting her access areas of the house she is in. She will whine softly when she needs to go outside if the door is shut or gate is closed.
