Lily is like a marshmallow, soft and sweet. She is an older spayed female, probably around 10 years old. She loves people and is sweetly affectionate and loves to cuddle. She also loves being around other dogs. She is a low energy gentle dog who does not play hard or need long walks. Because of arthritis in her back legs, she can’t get up on the couch without assistance, but, once she is there, she will happily snuggle with her humans for hours. She is good around children, but, because she is older and somewhat fragile, she would probably do best in a home without small children.
Lily loves toys, and will hide them all over the house. She is very curious, and can’t resist exploring any time she sees an open door or cabinet. She potty-trained quickly in her foster home, and responds to commands eagerly once she understands what is wanted. She does not dig and is not destructive. She has a soft soprano voice which we hear only rarely, usually when she hears other dogs barking.
Lily has had a rough time since she was found as a stray and brought into shelter. She is heartworm positive. She has had two surgeries to correct a hernia. She has trouble with ear infections, especially her right ear where her ear drum is broken. She takes daily medication to ease her arthritis pain. Despite all this, she has a happy, friendly, trusting nature, and loves to follow her people around to see what they are doing.
