Beagle / Cocker Spaniel / Mixed : : Female (spayed) : : Adult
Annie is a 4-year-old Beagle blend. She weighs 29 pounds and is small in stature. She is a sweet, loving, friendly dog who clearly was someone's pet before she somehow ended up as a stray at an animal shelter.
Annie is pretty much the perfect dog. She's the total package. Sweet and incredibly loving, she is housebroken (she did have a couple of accidents when she first arrived in foster care, probably from stress), sleeps at night, non-destructive, and chilled out. She is crate-trained but doesn't require a crate because she is so well-behaved. She loves sitting outside in the sunshine.
People, in particular, HER people, are very important to Annie. She is very focused on being with her human family. She loves to cuddle on the couch and loves to be close to her person all the time. It will be important to Annie for her adopters to include her as an integral and equal member of the family.
Annie rides well in the car and walks great on the leash, and she really likes going for walks. A daily walk with her person puts Annie over the moon!
She gets along with other dogs but is mostly focused on her human family, so other dogs in the home are not necessary for Annie. If there are other dogs in the home, she does fine with them although she is possessive of food so she should be fed separately from other dogs and all food should be picked up after meal-time.
She does not show aggression toward cats but will chase them.
Annie knows a few things from her previous life. She knows what "no" means. She will scratch at the door to let you know she's ready to come back inside from a potty break. She knows how to live inside a house. She is very eager to please her people. She is a good, good girl.
Annie would be great for a family with older children, or a mature family or couple who want a dog who can fit right into their routine. Annie is truly a people dog, and just wants to give and receive love with her family
