Hound : : Male (neutered)
Maurice is such a sweet heart. He is the epitomy of the good natured, goofy "hound". This guy is all legs! I call him my mini giraffee. (Yeah - he's not a beagle...more of a Tree Walker hound.) A special case that TBBR couldn't refuse to help. A little on the skinny side still...but we're working on fattening him up. He's also very much like a teeage boy - doesn't seem to know his physical space....He'll come running up to me and not be able to stop before making contact. (So homes with smaller, easily knocked down kids may not be the best fit.) He's also known to step on my cocker spaniel when she's laying down. (She'll growl - he moves.) He'll worm his way in between my dogs when they're getting petted - he wants it all! He is very even natured... when the neighbor's Puggle/Chihuahua was yipping and jumping in his face - he just stood their like a tropper and didn't react. Sometimes, he still shows nervousness or fear...he'll need people patient and willing to help him grow. We're working on leash walking, as he'll pull if scared....and boy - can he run and he's strong! Not much of a toy player at this time, that I've noticed. Does great at dog parks - goes up to meet everyone and spends most of his time running around.
