Dustin is a true rescue dog. He was found with 2 other dogs who had been on their own for quite a while. He was so afraid of people that he could not control himself and would have accidents motivated by fear. With a lot of patience, time, and love from his foster families he has come a long way and is ready to start his journey to a forever home. He will require a very special family. He must be with another dog, as another dog helps give him confidence, and he will require a lot of time from you to give him the space he needs to trust you. He is not a cuddler, but he does like to be near you and loves a good back scratch or belly rub. He does well with his foster siblings and does not seem to care about the outside cat. He is very skittish around loud noises or a lot of activity in the home, so he will appreciate a nice, quiet place that he can go to feel safe. He does still occasionally have accidents in the house when you are gone for more than 7-8 hours. He would also do best with a fenced in yard.

Dustin has a gentle soul and a very loving heart. He loves to play catch and can never have enough toys to play with. He is very vocal about playtime and dinner time and can appreciate a routine schedule. 6am is the start of his day even if it is not yours, but usually his vitamins and breakfast make him happy, until you have had your tea and are ready to play a bit with him.

If you are willing to take the time, and it will be months, to let him open up and show you his wonderful personality, you will be rewarded with his unconditional trust and love.

All of our animals are sterilized, microchipped, vaccinated, and tested/treated for heartworm disease before adoption.
