Ella II
Ella II

2/23/10 I don't know if you remember me but I found two of your old emails when we were in the process of adopting Ella II. We lived in Melbourne and adopted Ella II in July of 2007. Ella is the light of our lives. She is the most adorable thing. We are now in Fairmont WV, we moved here in the fall of 2007. Ella just loves the mountains. We live back off a one lane road and have hall nature around us. She is in heaven. She loves the snow and just bounces all over it. She LOVES everybody and has just a wonderful disposition. You would think she was almost human. :) Ella is doing just fine. She's very active and the house training is going good an occasional mess up, nothing big. We do playing all day and exercising, but she seems to be at her highest point of playfulness around 7:30 in the evening until around ten just into everything, trying to get her to reverse it to the afternoons. haha She will be starting her obedience classes on august 22. All in all she is settling in great. We love her dearly. Patty ***2nd Update*** A little note to let you know that Ella is doing just great. She is healthy and happy. She's been in obiedence classes and she is doing great but he beagle nose leads her astary once in awhile. haha And she is a digger outside. I guess we'll find ourselves in China one day. hahahahaha... All in all we LOVE her to death, she is the sweetest and most loving little dog anyone could ask for. I want also to let you know that my husband has had a promotion and we will be relocated to fairmont west virginia. We just found out 2 weeks ago and he will start Oct 1st. hopefully Ella and I will follow the middle to end of October when we do closing on our new house. So we will all have a big change to the weather. I myself have lived in florida for 45 years since I moved here in high school. All these years I've been back 4-5 times a year to vist family. My sons are Pitt graduates and decided to live up there so they are an hour away. We will love it I'm sure. if we get a chance we will email you updated pictures of Ella and I'm sure we will stay in touch over email. Thank you again for saving all these beautiful dogs and giving them a second chance at life. You are all wonderful people. Patty, Bill and Ella

Elvis II
Elvis II

Sorry we haven’t sent pictures. We have just had a close friend pass away this week and we have been distracted. Elvis, though, who has now been renamed Max is an absolute delight. We love him and he has assimilated well with our other two dogs. We are working on commands with him because he did not know any. No housebreaking accidents, though — he goes right out the doggie doors. We are not crating him anymore during the day and the dogs are fine. I will say I suspect that he was at least verbally abused because sometimes when we are teaching him with a firm voice, he cowers down and acts fearful. That is starting to occur less often and we try to be gentle in our voice commands. He does act like he cannot get enough to eat. Mealtime is the only time we are still struggling with. He wolfs down his food and tries to get to Brody & Murphy’s bowls. We are working on that behavior but it is slow. We also notice that his “thumbs” have been cut off. Was that done for hunting purposes? It’s not just the nail but the whole thing on both front paws. Poor baby. He is excellent on the leash and walking all 3 of them has been no problem. Actually, I thought that would be the most difficult but it’s easy. Thank you for what you do with the rescue. We are dog nuts at our house and Beagles have a special place in our hearts. Brody will be 12 this month and he’s a love. He & Max are about the same size and Max is helping Brody play some despite his arthritis. I promise we will send pix soon! Thanks, Janet

He’s doing just great, Angela. I’ve asked my daughter to send you pix. I will ask her again today as we are all off work. He has fit into the family so well — each day we see him get a bit more comfortable. You should see how he and our other Beagle Brody snuggle together when they nap. What an awwwww picture! His personality is charming and he is gentle without being passive. We’re crazy about him! Hello, we just wanted to give you an update on Elvis. We adopted him in July/August 2007. We love him so much. We have moved to Wisconsin a month ago and he is trying to adjust to the snow. It's cute. He didn't know what to expect at first. He is adjusting well though. We couldn't imagine life without him. We were told when we adopted him that he was adopted and brought back. WE thank whomever did that because we have the pleasure of Elvis in our family.

Ella
Ella

Ella filled a place in our hearts when we lost our last beagle to cancer. She is incredibly sweet. Ella gets along very well with our cat, enduring his playful attacks. She attempts to make friends with everyone on the street and is well loved by our daughter. Our household wouldn't be the same without her. Janet
