Rufus is a sweet guy who is so happy to be saved. He gets along well with the other dogs in the home. It appears that Rufus has not a lot of practice of just hanging out while people eat. Because of this, he needs to be crated when food is being brought out. He does not bark much in his foster home which is nice, although the three other dogs with him might give him a few lessons. It is odd, but outside he has not barked while in the yard. We think he may have spent a lot of time in the back yard before TBBR rescued him. If Rufus was kept mostly outside, it would explain his fear of thunderstorms. During storms, he shakes a bit and tries to climb somewhere high. He will need patience. Rufus loves toys. The first morning he was in the foster home, he took a Nylabone outside. His foster saw him under the pine trees by the fence and went over to check on him. It looked like he was building a nest. When the pine needles were searched through, the Nylabone was found underneath. Rufus was saving the bone until later although he did not dig a hole. :) Rufus always seems happy and his tail makes a thumping noise hitting the ground. We often say he should be named Thumper since we hear his tail frequently. His tail will wag even a little harder when he is adopted. Won't you consider taking this sweet guy home?
