Allie is a Compassionate Care Case:
Many times a year TBBR takes in dogs that are considered unadoptable and we provide them with much needed medical care, friendship and comfort for a few weeks, months or even years in our homes. These dogs may be old and frail or have a terminal illness, or they may have a behavior issue that prevents them from finding a permanent home. This way they can live out their natural life in a home setting. This form of rescue is some of the most important work we do, although admittedly it is hard on the heart. We are always looking for people who can provide some temporary comfort to a Compassionate Care dog that comes to our attention. If you can't offer your home, consider sponsoring a dog in this program with either a financial gift for medical care or special diets and supplements, or with a donation of gently used supplies.
Allie has made wonderful progress in the time she has been with TBBR. When she arrived she was mostly bald and had a terrible skin condition. Her hair has improved dramatically and is all grown in!
Allie is doing beautifully with the 3 other beagles in her home as well as the three older children. Allie is very well behaved in the house and the only trouble she seems to get into is chewing tissues! She doesn't care if they are clean or dirty--she just loves tissues.
Allie loves her walks and is well behaved enough that my kids easily walk her. Allie prefers to sleep on our couch during the day and on a doggy bed by our side at night. She will use a crate but isn't thrilled about it.
Allie went to the vet recently for a check up and she is down to 24 pounds!! She is a great dog and has really won the heart of my 9 yr old son. She is playful and loving with him. Our pictures don't do her justice!
Allie is having some health issues and is suspected to have Cushings Disease. She has lost more weight and is down to 18 pounds. Her foster family adores her and is trying to keep her happy in her golden years. If you might consider donating to help Allie's medical needs is would be greatly appreciated. Her monthly meds may run $50 or more so could really use a sponsor.
