Hector, aka "Heck" is not quite a beagle but was too precious to pass up! He is a sweet hound who was left to die by his hunter owner in the Florida panhandle in a gator-infested salt water marsh. A wonderful couple who heard his cries for help rescued Heck with their canoe and brought him back to their houseboat. His nose and paws were raw and bloody and he was emaciated and very dehydrated. They nursed him back to health and showed him that people can be loving and trusted. Despite Heck's past, he has shown that he has a sweet and forgiving spirit and is enjoying all the love and attention he is receiving in his new foster home. He is learning to trust again and gets along great with children, other dogs and cats. Can you find a place in your heart and home for this rescued hound? He promises to reward you with unconditional love and loyalty!

Just another note: Hector is a handsome, tall boy, more like a foxhound. He is full of life and love. Although he had a tough start in this world, he is a healthy, happy and gentle soul. Don't miss meeting this exceptional boy!
