Welcome to the

BJ's Story Continues!

BJ After
BJ with Splint

BJ Post-Splint

BJ was found walking along the side of the road by a good samaritan, clearly injured and bleeding from the nose. He was taken to the shelter in Columbia county FL where they noted his severe facial injuries and immediately called TBBR. Within the following 24 hours, BJ had made his way down to central Florida to a TBBR foster home. Despite being in terrible pain from an obviously broken jaw, he was the sweetest and most gentle and trusting boy and we were immediately in love with him. Now that he has seen a vet and had an extensive series of xrays, the extent of his injuries is appalling. It seems pretty clear that he was struck in the face with some kind of blunt object with such violent force that his facial bones are shattered. He has more than 10 fractures in his jaw!! His nasal bones and sinuses are are fractured into a million pieces. BJ had a complex surgery that included a plate and screws to repair the damage. His jaw was held shut with acrylic splints for 8 weeks while his bones healed. BJ has recovered nicely and continues to be a sweet boy with  a wonderful personality. We will never understand how anyone could do this to this precious and loving beagle boy. We would like to thank Dr. Alicia Emerson from the Ravenwood Veterinary Clinic in Port Orange, Florida for all of her dedication to healing BJ. Again, we would like to thank everyone who made a donation to cover the medical expenses for BJ. We will continue to update you on his progress! For more information about BJ, check out his page!

We are an all volunteer, foster based, 501(c)(3), not-for-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of abused, neglected and at risk Beagles and Beagle mix dogs. We endeavor to reduce pet overpopulation by educating the public and spaying/neutering all of our Beagles prior to adoption. We are a continuing source of information to the community on the behavior and special qualities of the Beagle breed.

Rambo is stunning!  His size, coloring, and features are very unique and striking for a hound mix.  He has those pleading brown eyes and big ears we all love.Bigger than a typical beagle, we believe he has some harrier or fox hound in him.  We aren't sure if he was ever allowed in a home because in his first foster home, he stood there at the open door, unsure of what to do next.  He tentatively crossed the threshold and wasn't sure what was next.  But he figured it out ...read more about Rambo
Melody is a perfect beagle girl if ever there was one!!  She is playful outside and quiet and laid back in the house.  She is wonderful with kids and great with other dogs.  She seems to be completely housebroken as she has yet to have a single accident!  Yeah!  She is a happy easy going girl who is very adaptable to just about any home.
  Noah II
Look at that handsome face! I think he's smiling for the camera. Noah is a super sweetheart of a beagle boy and is very friendly. He is a real love! He is so well mannered, gets along beautifully with other dogs and children. He is housebroken and doesn't chew things. He is given the run of the house but choses to sleep in a crate at night. The crate door is left open for him to come and go as he pleases. A dog bed would probably be just fine with him also. He is such a good and well trained boy...read more about Noah II
3/19/2014:Romeo couldn't be sweeter! He follows his foster mom around, looking up with those big brown eyes, always looking for a snuggle. He is on a strict diet but takes it in stride - he never complains. Romeo loves to go for walks and keeps up with the pack. He would be an easy addition to your family.2/15/2014:Poor Romeo finds himself back with TBBR after seven years in an adoptive home. He was so handsome when he was adopted -- fit and trim.  He was overfed and underexercised.  W...read more about Romeo
Dash is such a bundle of love! He like to cuddle and give hugs but his favorite pastime is playing fetch. That's right...he actually brings the ball back so you can throw it again - a trick not many beagles have mastered. He will even try to catch the ball in his mouth mid-air.Dash gets a little overwhelmed at the dog park and his true personality doesn't shine through, so please contact us and arrange for a private meet-up if you think Dash is a good fit for your family.Dash was originally adop...read more about Dash
